Link 11 Tactical Chain of Command Simulation System

The Link11 Tactical Chain of Command Simulation System is based on the open source software GNURadio and MATLAB designed to operate flawlessly on all models of the SDR-LW series of all-in-ones. It mainly implements a series of simulations based on the Link11 transmission protocol, including simple Link11 signal coding modulation, decoding after receiving through the wireless air interface; radio silent mode of the slave; and polling call mode based on configurable time window and number of devices for the master and slave.

The simulation system is divided into three modules (as shown in the figure above), and when performing Link11 simulations, only two RF channels of the SDR device are required, one for one receive and one for transmission.

This experimental process fully simulates the Link11 protocol, which can carry out the same frequency time division communication, or the frequency division time division combination communication (RF parameters can be configured at any time), and establish the master station and slave networking through wireless communication. This simulation system can complete practical exercises, simulation verification and other teaching activities. At the same time, the simulation system has the characteristics of sustainable optimization and open source of the software platform. The corresponding functions can be adjusted according to the needs of actual simulation teaching and research.
